Perhaps your bathroom needs redecorating, is about to be built or could just do with some minor improvements. If so, then you are one of the millions of people who need to redecorate their bathroom in the UK – the majority of which put this off for up to a year. Research suggests this is because the task can seem too big or too expensive and that many do not know where to start when decorating a bathroom. The reasoning behind this is that it is common to frequently update other rooms in the house such as the bedroom or lounge, and people are too unfamiliar with how to approach decorating a bathroom.
The task in hand can actually be an efficient, inexpensive and enjoyable job! So here are some top ideas to help with your bathroom renovation.
Lighting
This is one of the most important things to consider in a bathroom. Bathroom lights need to emit enough light for you to be able to see effectively in both the morning and evening. If your bathroom is small then using ceiling lights such as spot lights can soften a small space, whilst giving off enough light providing the bulbs are bright enough. If your bathroom is fairly big and perhaps you have a bath then you should invest on a second form of lighting. A touch table lamp placed by the bath on a cabinet is great for creating that relaxing atmosphere when you want to soak in the bath after a long day.

Mirrors
Remember that your bathroom may be used for other things than just its main purpose. Placing mirrors above sinks or on a spare wall can help make the room bigger. But even more importantly these are practical – having a mirror by the sink is necessary for anyone needing to change contacts, apply makeup or shave. Choose a mirrored cabinet above the sink if you are struggling for space. If you have more flexibility why not find a funky mirror that is an unusual shape?
Storage
Bathrooms need storage space for items such as; towels, toiletries, cleaning products and bathroom products. Sink cabinets can fit in all the usual toothbrushes etc but its handy to have a cupboard for cleaning products and a separate cupboard for towels. This keeps things tidy and the bathroom looks more spacious. It is also easier to keep everything clean as it is all out the way!
