There are some singletons who hate it when Valentine’s Day rears its mushy head. If you are one of them and don’t like the hype around this holiday then why not celebrate it in your own unique way. If you don’t have, or don’t want, that someone to buy you a lovely present on Valentine’s Day, then go out and buy one for yourself. Perhaps you have had your eye on a new jacket or camera, or you have been meaning to finish decorating the lounge? If so, then go ahead and indulge yourself and buy that item you need or want!
Being single saves a lot of money – you don’t have to fork out for all those birthdays, Christmases and anniversaries, so treating yourself once in a while will not break the bank. Be savvy and go shopping when there is a sale or discount available. In the lead up to Valentine’s Day, the January sales have some great deals. You can rummage through the sales in clothes shops or head to your local home store and buy that chandelier, you’ve wanted since forever.
Some shops will have special Valentine’s Day deals, even if it is on the modern table lamps you’ve had your eye on, so take advantage of this even if you hate the holiday. Buying something that you both want and need will help reduce any guilt levels, so if you’ll feel better leaving those ridiculously expensive shoes in their designer shop and want to buy one of those mini chandeliers, for your lounge instead, then go and do it.

Valentine’s Day products that incorporate hearts and ‘I love you’s will soon be discounted to a tenth of their retail price once 15th February arises. The week after Valentine’s Day is great for picking up discounted valentine’s chocolate which is no longer wanted by the couples whose celebrations for 14th February have come and gone. This is a good time to stock your treat cupboard up for half the price! Flowers will be reduced if they are covered in valentines packaging so why not buy a few bunches and place them around the house in pretty vases to create a fresh feel in your home. You’ll find loads of bargains so save time and money by waiting until after Valentine’s Day to go shopping, or if you're keen then head to the January sales and see what you can find.
